Shakshuka consists of beautifully poached eggs in a richly seasoned tomato sauce that is just plain good. The fact that this dish couldn’t be easier, takes up one skillet, and looks glamorous…well that’s just bonus.

Mandelbrot

My mom and grammy called this mandel bread, but I always heard mongrel bread which always caused snorts of laughter around the table.  Whatever you want to call it, this is a cup of coffee’s and a lazy morning’s best friend. This is a terrific recipe to make with your kids.  I still remember shaping the dough and getting flour everywhere!  There are many versions of this recipe, but here is the one I grew up with (we didn’t add chocolate chips but an easy add if desired).

Grilled Haloumi with Egg, Mint and Tomato

I'm giving one of my go to lunches/breakfast proper respect. I am all about the perfect bite (which is funny because growing up my food couldn’t touch each other😆). I wish I could remember where I learned this, but this meal provides the perfect bite: the saltiness of the cheese, the richness of the egg yolk, the acidity of the tomato with the fresh bright note of mint. Just....well perfect ❤️❤️❤️.
